Introduction to the course:
The RYA Level 2 course is the gateway to Powerboating. Have you never driven a Powerboat before? Then this two-day course is the place to start, taking you from a novice to being able to operate and navigate a Powerboat safely.
This course, governed by the Royal Yachting Association, sets the Level 2 powerboat training standard. Upon completion, you will be eligible to apply for an International Certificate of Competence (ICC), opening up a world of boating opportunities. Is prior experience needed?
No experience is needed prior to undertaking this course . To train with Thames Active, students must be 16 years or older.
What's involved?
The RYA Powerboat level 2 covers the basic and most fundamental skills of boating. During the course you will learn how to: Come alongside, moor the boat, recover a person from the water, picking up a mooring buoy along with how to handle the boat at high speed and more
